Trout - Taneytown Pond (MD)

Approximate Boundary: 39.654047,-77.158046 to 39.654716,-77.156416 The 2 acre Taneytown Pond is the main feature of the 19.3 acre Roberts Mill Park that lies on the eastern edge of the small village of Taneytown. The spring-fed pond is accessible via an asphalt path that encircles its perimeter. There are plenty of benches dotting the shoreline to provide places for parents to rest while watching their children fish. Beyond the lake, the park includes a fenced playground, a volleyball court, picnic pavilions, restrooms and plenty of parking. The lake is shallow at the shoreline with the minimum of underwater vegetation to make casting complex.  Getting There: East: From Baltimore, follow the I-695 beltway to exit 19. At exit 19, merge onto I-795/Northwest Expressway toward Owings Mills. Continue onto MD 140 when I-795 ends. Turn right onto Divern Street followed by another right on Stumptown Road. Turn into the Roberts Mill Park. South: From I-270, continue onto US 15 N. Take exit 17 onto MD 26 E/Liberty Road toward Libertytown. Turn left on MD 194 N/Woodsboro Pike. Turn right on East Baltimore Street. Turn left on Divern Street. Turn right on Stumptown Road. Turn into the Roberts Mill Park.
